Concentration Choice (Injection Vial)

Though each variant has the same efficacy, they require different injection volumes. For instance, for cats showing neurological symptoms or those with a higher body weight, a higher concentration (such as 30 mg/ml) is recommended. This allows for a smaller injection volume, making the injection process more comfortable for the cat.

Determining the Dosage

Based on the type of FIP, the recommended dosages are:

Wet FIP: 6 mg/kg

Dry FIP: 8 mg/kg

Cases with neurological or ocular symptoms: 10 mg/kg

What to Do in Case of a Relapse?

About 3% of cats that underwent treatment with Basmi FIP experience a relapse. Factors that can cause a relapse include:

• Insufficient dosage during treatment.

• Inconsistency in the treatment plan.

• Stopping the treatment before the recommended 84-day duration.

• Not conducting a comprehensive blood test before ending the treatment.

If a cat shows relapse symptoms, such as seizures or loss of appetite, the recommended dosage for relapse treatment is from 12 mg/kg up to 15 mg/kg (Relapse Dosage).

In certain situations, if the cat's condition doesn't improve, the dosage can be gradually increased by +2 mg/kg from the previous dose. However, this should be based on a vet's recommendation, and you should also consult with the Basmi FIP team.

The relapse treatment duration varies between 4 weeks to 12 weeks (84 days), depending on the cat's condition. If the cat's condition doesn't improve within 2 weeks, consider increasing the FIP dosage to 15 mg/kg.
